Artist's Description

A popular viewpoint in Yosemite is Olmsted Point along Tioga Pass Road. Steve's Rock, named for the late pioneer night photography educator Steve Harper, has been the subject of many photographs. I found inspiration for this photograph with the realization that contained in this image, the results of both fire (igneous rock) and ice (smoothing from glaciation) can be observed.

About Hal Mitzenmacher

Hal Mitzenmacher

Switching gears, my interest turned to underwater film photography and videography using both housed and Nikonos style cameras. My first digital camera was a mere 1.2 megapixel Kodak point and shoot, yet the results from this camera, combined with the power of image processing software truly amazed me, and pointed toward a future that truly boggled the mind. Well, today IS that future, and what has evolved in the graphic arts world creates opportunities to express oneself...
