The galactic core of the Milky Way lines up with Highway 65 in early July, which became an opportunity to create this image of vehicle light trails under the Milky Way. This is a composite of several images all taken from a fixed location over the course of several hours.
About Hal Mitzenmacher
Welcome to an important and dear part of my life, a quest to capture the perfect night image! Photography has been an interest of mine for decades, starting with a basic Minolta SRT101 film camera that accompanied me into the back country of the Sierra Nevada. Switching gears, my interest turned to underwater film photography and videography using both housed and Nikonos style cameras. My first digital camera was a mere 1.2 megapixel Kodak point and shoot, yet the results from this camera, combined with the power of image processing software truly amazed me, and pointed toward a future that truly boggled the mind. Well, today IS that future, and what has evolved in the graphic arts world creates opportunities to express oneself...
